What is a soil stack?
The main waste pipe from your toilets
The soil stack is the large vertical pipe, usually on the outside wall, that carries waste from your toilets and drains down to the sewer and vents gases above the roofline. Many older Manchester homes still have the original cast iron, which corrodes and cracks with age.
